1st entry ever

I've decided to start a blog. though I'm rather late to this game, I've realized that I'm rather lonely at times and can use the perception of company. This is because I have a nearly one year old girl and she requires all of my attention. For example, she is currently sleeping on my lap while I attempt to type with my fingers of my free hand. I must do this with minimal movement so as not to wake her, thereby utilizing my one hour and fifty minutes of quasi-freedom. So please excuse brevity or grammatical errors.

The idea for blogging was furthered by a couple of blogs detailing the minutia of daily life. I've been very moved by some of these, and am inspired to write about my own daily what-have-you. Here it goes:

This morning the 6:30 alarm did not go off. We set it each Tuesday and Thursday for said time so that I might complete the last of my MA coursework by showing up on time. I do this fairly regularly so all is well, and since I am up most of the night with little Liv, I am almost always stirring even without the alarm. Only one year ago I considered 6:00AM to be somewhere in the middle of my 6-7 hour night. So I made it to class and home again by 9:45 where our contractor and his crew were working. I was forced to park in the street and we have a very long driveway so it is a small hike to the house. Upon making a contorted U-turn in a wide open street with plenty of room I unceremoniously hit the curb and hoped no-one noticed. I especially hoped no one noticed who might have seen me drive into the lawn on previous occasions backing out of said long driveway.
